• Privacy
  Never include your surname, home address, work place, phone numbers or email address or any other identifying information in your profile page as this information would then be public.
• Take Your Time
  When you start communicating with someone online, take as much time as you feel you need to get to know him or her. Ask lots of questions and ensure that there is consistency with their answers. For example: does their description of themselves match the picture with their profile; are the details they provide you about their interests and job similar or do they keep changing.
• Be Careful
  Don't give out your contact details too soon. If a member pressurises you for your personal contact details or is pressurising you to meet up before you feel you are ready, it is best to discontinue corresponding with them. You have the facility to block a member from sending communications to you if they continue to make contact with you.
• Notify Us
  If a member is sending inappropriate messages to you, you can use the block button in their profile. Please report inappropriate behaviour to us.
• View A Photo
  It is useful to view a photo of a person before you decide to meet with them. If they are serious about dating then they should be willing to provide you with a photo or better still, several photos. If they don't wish to have a public photo on the site they can put up private photos, which you can access with their permission.
• Telephone Contact
  It is useful to chat on the phone before meeting with someone as this helps you to form an opinion about the person before you decide whether or not to meet. You may wish to have several phone conversations before you meet with them. It is best to use a mobile number or public phone rather than your home number. Remember that you can block the Caller ID so that the number you call from can remain private from the person's phone.
• Meeting
  Meet when you are ready and you have a positive opinion about someone. Trust your instincts and use common sense. If you change your mind about someone for whatever reason and don't feel comfortable then don't be afraid to cancel a meeting at the last minute. Use your gut instincts. They are usually right.
• Meeting Place
  If you do decide to meet, then arrange to meet in a safe place. Choose a public place that you are familiar with, which will have lots of people around e.g. a pub or restaurant. Always tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to return and give them the name and number of your date. Make your own way to and from the meeting place and bring your mobile with you. If you feel uncomfortable at any stage during the date then take action. You could excuse yourself to make a phone call and then leave the meeting place or you could ask someone nearby for assistance. Your safety is of utmost importance so don't be afraid to take action.
